Feedback Strategies

Quote on how we should support one another and grow (Source: Padlet ) The two article I read on giving useful feedback are What Kinds of Message Help Kids Grow? and Try Feedforward Instead of Feedback . The first article was interesting to me because it talked about how parents and educators could have an impact on how young children learn and grow. It mentioned how it's better to use process praise instead of just saying "Good job!" You want to directly compliment the child's effort or action. This makes sense because we want children to have a growth mindset and to be able to take on challenges to learn and grow. The second article gave some reasons on how feedforward is a useful tool for giving feedback. This article was interesting to me because it talks about focusing on the positive part of when giving suggestions to someone. For instance, giving them advice where it would positively change their future and help them succeed in their work. Like most peop...

Topic Research: Rama and Sita

Image
Rama and Sita's Wedding (Source: Flickr ) The topic I'm most interested in was about the relationship between Rama and Sita. I think I could tell their story through Sita's perspective. The first story could be about how Rama and Sita got married. Rama won the challenge of being able to bend Shiva's bow for Sita's hand in marriage. The second story could be about Sita going on exile with Rama and getting abducted by Ravana. Then the last story could be her time in exile, which Rama sent her to. He sent her to exile because there wasn't trust since she was held captive by Ravana for long. I want to tell it in her perspective because I feel like Sita had gone through so much after marrying Rama. Source: Wikipedia

Week 3 Story: The One That Got Away

Hey guys, there's an updated version of this story on my portfolio! Link Once upon a time, there was a princess named Sita, who was so gorgeous and elegant. She was the wife of a very handsome, strong, and kind hearted man named Rama. Rama and Sita were so in love with each other that they would die for one another. Rama always wanted the best for his love and gave her anything she asked for. Rama built her a castle with a beautiful garden surrounding the whole place. Right behind their castle was also a dark and ambiguous forest. They never go into that area because there were usually rakshas, who are demons. As Sita was walking around in her garden, she saw something in the distant. She couldn’t believe her eyes. It was the most magnificent creature she has ever seen, a golden deer. She yelled for Rama and his brother, Lakshmana, and told them that she wanted Rama to capture the golden deer. Rama then went to get the creature for his wife. After a while, Sita ...

Reading Notes: Sita & Rama Wins Sita, Part A

Sita Plot : Rama is out with his brother Lakshmana plucking flowers at this garden. At the same garden, Princess Sita was also there along with her maids walking around. One of the maids noticed the two princes telling Sita and the others. At this instance, Rama only heard the sounds coming from Sita's bangles on her feet, and he already knew that she would be the love of his life. He lifted his head and saw Sita for the first time. Sita never said anything at the garden.  I think it will be interesting to tell this story in Sita's perspective and what she was thinking when she saw Rama for the first time.  Maybe make this story in a more modern setting and change the location of where they first meet. Rama Wins Sita Plot : Janak, monarch of Videha, placed a challenged for his daughter's hand in marriage. His daughter was Sita. The challenge was that whoever was able to bend the bow of Shiva will get to marry Sita. Many suitors from all around tried to bend the b...
