Reading Notes: The Burning of Lanka, Part C

The Burning of Lanka

  • Plot: Ravana orders to set Hanuman's tail on fire. However, Sita comes to hear of Ravana's plan, so she prays to the Fire to help him out. The Fire answers her prayers, and Hanuman's tail remains cool even though it's set on fire. Hanuman breaks loose and sets half of Lanka on fire. He soon regrets doing this because he realizes that Sita is still there and she might be hurt by fire. He would've failed his mission to save her if she's harmed in the fire. He goes back and is relieved to find her alive. He tells her they'll come back to save her and goes back to his people to let them know he has found Sita.
  • Hanuman should've been careful when his tail on fire and how half of Lanka was too because Sita was still there.
  • I'm not quite sure how I would change the story. Maybe I could change the setting or the characters
